Abstract:
PURPOSE:To effectively carry out the regeneration of a DPO (Diesel-engine particulate oxidizer), by operating an exhaust system fuel supply device when the regenerating time of the DPO is detected, to feed fuel into the exhaust system together with supercharged air. CONSTITUTION:An injection pipe 139 constituting an exhaust system fuel supply mechanism M is disposed, being directed toward the exhaust valve 136, in an exhaust passage 4 in the vicinity of the exhaust valve 136, which is a high temperature section of exhaust port 4b of a Diesel engine having a main combustion chamber 137 and an auxiliary combustion chamber (which is not shown). Atomized fuel injected from an electromagnetic injector 141 and supercharged air fed from a compressor 7a in a supercharger 7 through a shut-off valve 145 are fed into the above-mentioned injection pipe 139. When a detection means detects that the regenerating time of a DPO (which is not shown) has come, the above-mentioned exhaust system fuel supply mechanism M is operated to feed fuel together with supercharged air into the DPO to regenerate the latter.
