To provide a regenerative braking control apparatus of a hybrid vehicle for consuming excessive regenerative electric power while suppressing rise of the number of rotations of an engine when the regenerative electric power largely exceeds the acceptable electric power for the battery.
The hybrid vehicle is composed of an engine 11, a battery, a generator, and a motor. A regenerative braking control apparatus 2 of this vehicle comprises a PCM 21. The PCM 21 increases forcibly the number of rotations of the engine by the generator by supplying the exceeded electric power to the generator when the regenerative electric power caused by regenerative braking exceeds the acceptable electric power for the battery. The PCM 21 increases a load of the generator per one rotation of the engine when the amount of rise of the number of engine rotations by a forcible engine rotation is predicted to be larger than a predetermined amount.
