To allow stable high-temperature combustion, and to suppress the generation of NOx by providing a heat storage air preheater with a built-in heat storage material being heated by a combustion gas, by introducing air being heated here to a turning flame furnace, and by jetting a fuel gas in a tangential direction in the flame furnace for burning with a low air ratio and at the same time at high temperature.
In a regeneration burner 10 for non-oxidation combustion being composed of a heat storage air preheater 2 and a turning flame furnace 4, the heat storage air preheater 2 fills a heat storage material 1 such as a ceramics ball and honeycomb material into a hollow chamber being pierced in upper and lower directions. At the lower part of a heat-resistant screen 2a being provided at the lower part of the preheater 2, an gas inflow chamber 8 is demarcated, and a combustion air or high- temperature combustion gas is supplied in the chamber 8. In the turning flame furnace 4 with a cylindrical hollow combustion chamber 5, a plurality of fuel combustion burners 6 are mounted at the middle part while a fuel gas is supplied in a tangential direction in the flame furnace 4, and at the same time the upper part of the preheater 2 is connected so that the upper part is connected to combustion chamber 5 in the tangential direction.
