To provide a regenerative control device for a hybrid electric vehicle, which is capable of eliminating a difference in a deceleration feeling caused by disparity between an engine deceleration mode and a motor deceleration mode during coasting drive, and of further achieving a maximal power generation amount by regenerative control of an electric motor in the motor deceleration mode.
During coasting drive of the vehicle in the motor deceleration mode, a clutch between an engine and the electric motor is disconnected, and regenerative torque of the electric motor is controlled on a maximum torque line to thereby use all deceleration energy of the vehicle for regenerative power generation, and a shift-down is performed in a rotation range of the electric motor where regenerative torque can be obtained, near engine braking on the maximum torque line, so that a deceleration feeling similar to the engine deceleration mode is achieved.
