To provide a regenerative deodorizing device to perform reliable and efficient thermal decomposition treatment of gas to be treated.
This deodorizing device comprises a combustion chamber 1 to perform thermal decomposition of a smell component in gas G to be treated; a preheat part 3 to effect preheat of the gas G to be treated fed to the combustion chamber 1; and a cooling part 4 to cool combustion exhaust gas (g) discharged from the combustion chamber 1. Positions of heat storage bodies 2 are alternately changed from and to the preheat part 3 and the cooling part 4 and cooling is carried out in a way that the heat storage body 2 is positioned at the cooling part 4 and the holding heat of the combustion exhaust gas (g) is absorbed. Preheat is executed by positioning the heat storage body 2 in the preheat part 3 and discharging heat, absorbed by the heat storage body 2 during cooling, to the gas G to be treated. In a so formed deodorizing device, the heat storage body 2 consists of a heat storage body 2A formed of a metal and a heat storage body 2B made of ceramics, and in both the positions of the preheat part 3 and the cooling part 4, the heat storage body 2B formed of ceramics is situated in a manner to be positioned closer to the combustion chamber 1 than the heat storage body 2A formed of the metal.
