Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve acid resistance and practically enhance impact resistance by a method wherein a heat transfer element of one layer out of two or more layers of a layered body of heat transfer elements is composed of specific wt.% of ceramic as principal composition whose principal composition in crystal phase is quartz or cristobalite.
CONSTITUTION: A rotor 1 includes three layers 2a, 2b, 2c of heat transfer element layered bodies. One of the layers 2a, 2b, 2c of the heat transfer element layered bodies comprises ceramic containing, as principal composition, 65-85wt.% SiO2, 10-30wt.% Al2O3 and 1-5wt.%, in total, K2O and Na2O, wherein a principal composition in crystal phase is quartz or cristobalite. As a result, a heat transfer element having sufficient acid resistance and heat resistance and practically having impact resistance can be obtained, and hence a regenerative heat exchanger wherein a fire can be prevented from taking place can be provided.
