PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerative braking permission judgement method and judgement device for a hybrid vehicle, which can avoid the misjudgement of regenerative braking permission by clutch operation.
SOLUTION: By processings in steps S1-S3, it is judged whether a vehicle is a manual transmission vehicle. If it is a manual transmission vehicle, after a clutch operation in a deceleration state is detected, it is judged whether a gear is in neutral position. If, by this processing, it is judged that the vehicle is a manual transmission vehicle and the gear is in a connected state by the processings in steps S4-S6, the gear position is successively estimated in accordance with a vehicle speed and a revolution and changes in time of the gear position are judged. If it is judged that the change exists in the gear position, the regenerative braking is permitted.
