To prevent the production of metallic powder due to operation vibration of a heat gas engine by a method wherein a regenerator to effect absorption and discharge of heat energy is formed such that a sintered metal is covered with a heat storage material.
When a piston 2 on the high temperature side and a piston on the low temperature side are operated, sealed working gas is moved between chambers by the flow of the working gas through a high temperature regenerator 4 and a low temperature regenerator 7. When the working gas flows through the regenerators 4 and 7, the working gas is heated or cooled and the interior of a closed container is boosted or reduced in a pressure. The so formed regenerator 4 is formed in the shape of a cylinder provided at a central part with a cylinder hole 40 through which the piston 2 on the high temperature side passes. The regenerator 4 is provided in the direction of the working gas with metal layers 41 and 42 formed of a sintered metal, and an intermediate layer 43 of a heat storage material is formed between the two sintered metal layers 41 and 42. Similarly, the regenerator 7 also uses the same constitution. As noted above, by sealing the intermediate layer 43 with the sintered metal layers 41 and 42, mixture of metallic power in a heat gas engine is prevented from occurring.
