Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent any crack from occurring on a trap by connecting the first and second exhaust pipes onto the inlet periphery part and central part of a trap, respectively and, after an elapse of a predetermined time since opening of the first exhaust, opening the second exhaust pipe. CONSTITUTION:The first and second exhaust pipes 2a, 2b are connected onto the inlet periphery part and central part of a trap 3, respectively. The first and second inlet valves 7a, 7b are mounted to the first and second exhaust valves 2a, 2b and after an elapse of a predetermined time since opening of the first inlet valve 7a, the second inlet valve 7b is opened. Thus, it is possible to reduce temperature gradients in regeneration of the trap so as to prevent any crack from occurring on the trap.
