PURPOSE: To increase the insulating performance of an coil end by placing elastic insulator in a wedge-shaped space formed between a hexagonally and neatly wound coil end insulating section and a coil lead-out insulating layer and by reinforcedly insulating a specified length of the coil end section and coil lead wire together.
CONSTITUTION: A coil end section which is formed by neatly winding a coil conductor 1 several times into a hexagonal shape is coated with a coil head insulating layer 2 to be insulated. A lead wire 3E of an element wire conductor 3 is coated with a lead-out insulating layer 4 to be insulated. A wedge-shaped space formed between the lead-out insulating layer 4 and the coil head insulating layer 2 is filled with elastic insulator. Then, a coil end main insulating layer 5 is wound round the coil head insulating layer 2 and the lead-out insulating layer 4 covering a specified length, with an exposed section 17 remained unwound, to form a reinforcing insulating layer 16. By this method, the insulating performance of the coil end is increased and thereby the insertion of a coil into a slot can be done efficiently.
