Abstract:

To improve the durability performance against thermal fatigue (cold and heat repetition) in a multi-column type heat exchanger.

As a reinforcing member (5), a connection (6) is formed, at its opposite ends in the longitudinal direction, with planar U-shaped parts (7a) or planar L-shaped parts (7) in spread out state, respectively, and each of these parts are folded back to form a lapped state wherein an outer half of the each is folded back to the connection (6) side to form the folded end edge into a curved face (5a) matching a semicircular arc-shaped inner face part (1b) of a flat tube (1). The lapped parts (8) are bent perpendicularly to the plane of the connection (6) into a L-shape in cross section to form four or two insertion parts (9). The respective insertion parts (9) are inserted in openings of the flat tubes (1) at opposite outermost columns in a parallel direction of the flat tubes, and the insertion parts are brazed.
