Abstract:
PURPOSE: To guide a mobile object along its scheduled path with high accuracy by calculating accurately the relative distance between the mobile object and a mark and the position of the mobile object in its turning travel state.
CONSTITUTION: The moving distance of a mobile object secured between the reception of a 1st light beam L1 and the reception of a 2nd light beams L2 is calculated based on the outputs of the light beam projecting/receiving devices 8 and 9 and the output of a moving distance detector means 5. Meanwhile the turning angle of the mobile object secured between the reception of both beams L1 and L2 is calculated from those outputs of both devices 8 and 9 and the output of a turning angle detector means 4. Then the relative distance between the mobile object and a light reflecting means is calculated when the light is received by the means 8 or 9 based on the calculated moving distance and turning angle, the position of the light reflecting means, and the projecting angles of both beams L1 and L2. Thus the mobile object is guided along its scheduled path and based on the calculated relative distance between the mobile object and a mark.
