To provide a relative position management system capable of detecting the position of an object that cannot be equipped with a position specifying device as a relative position with respect to an object that can be equipped with a position specifying device.
A radio tag 10 is attached in advance to an object, such as a document, a book and glasses. A radio tag reader 20 periodically reads the ID code of the radio tag in a non-contact manner and transmits the ID code to a radio LAN terminal 30 provided for each radio tag 10. Each radio LAN terminal 30 relays the ID code and transmits the ID code to a radio AP 40. Each radio AP 40 transmits the received ID code together with the terminal address of the radio LAN terminal 30 and the AP address of the radio AP 40 to a position management server 50. A portable telephone terminal 60 requests the position management server 50 to search the position of an object in response to a user operation, receives the search result from the position management server 50 and displays the search result on a display.
