Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay system and a switch device capable of multicast communication with a simple mechanism.SOLUTION: L2SWs 12a, 12b update snooping tables 16a, 16b by snooping when relaying IGMP packets 17a-17c to a predetermined router (L3SW). Further, the L2SW 12a acquires through a control plane 15 correspondence retained in the snooping table 16b of the L2SW 12b, to register it into the snooping table 16a. Then the L2SW 12a, on receiving a multicast packet destined to a multicast group, extracts each corresponding IP address on the basis of the snooping table 16a, and converts the multicast packet into each uncast packet destined to each IP address.
