Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture through a simple process and at low cost a complex sheet which has a releasable inner coupling surface and which covers up the surface of a card base or other articles and to make the sheet very easy to use.
CONSTITUTION: A polyethylene resin 2 is thermally extruded at melting temperatures of about 290 to 310°C close to normal lamination temperature and is releasably coupled to one side of a thin sheet of paper 1 which has fine quality and is high in bulk density and smoothness, such as glassine paper. This complex sheet is applied to an article such as a covering card or a complex display label, while a transparent pressure-reducing adhesive 3 is applied to the back of the thin sheet of paper 1 and/or that of a polyethylene film according to purposes. By elevating tree melting temperature of the polyethylene resin 2, the resin is sufficiently thermally activated to be uniformly coupled to the paper, and with the use of the thin sheet of paper 1 that is sufficiently high in bulk density and smoothness, the molten resin is prevented from sticking to paper fibers due to temperature or fine indentations in the paper surface, and a desired peel strength which allows smooth peeling can be obtained.
