To provide a low-cost releasing composition which is directly adjusted to desired viscosity using a minimum amount of thickener and is used especially in building industries.

A releasing composition for releasing paints, coated films and residual adhesive consists of the following components (A)-(D) [wherein the amount of component (A) is at least 40 pts.wt. against 100 pts.wt. the total of components (A), (B) and (C)]: (A) At least one inorganic filler having a thickening property, (B) at least one dibasic ester, (C) at least one bipolar aprotic solvent, and (D) at least one additive chosen from a cellulose thickener, a pyrogenic silica and a dispersant.
