This remaining distance meter 7 for carrying out a graphical display stretching and contracting according to the distance from the present location to the destination is displayed on a display screen 6 of a navigation device. In the remaining distance meter 7, a reference distance mark 10 is previously added, and the distance from the present location to the destination is displayed in the initial period of a start by using the reference distance mark 10 as a starting point. When a vehicle travels, and the distance from the present location to the destination is changed, the display of the remaining distance meter 7 is stretched or contracted according to the change of the distance. When a remaining distance set button 6e is depressed during traveling, the remaining distance can be expandedly displayed by using the reference distance mark 10 as the starting point. Mark display for memorizing the remaining distance at the time the remaining distance set button 6e is depressed can be added.
