Title:
REMAINING TONER QUANTITY DETECTOR AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS EQUIPPED WITH SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005195791
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To accurately judge a remaining toner quantity at any time, and to attain the reduction of a cost.

The remaining toner quantity detector is constituted as follows: when the level of the toner in the toner cartridge 22 exceeds each toner detecting electrode 45, a magnetic electrode 50 on a flexible film strip 49 does not slide in contact with the each toner detecting electrode 45, on the other hand, when the level of the toner is equal to or below the each toner detecting electrode 45, the electrode 50 on the flexible film strip 49 slides in contact with the electrode 45. Thus, whether or not the remaining toner quantity in the toner cartridge 22 is reduced is judged by detecting whether or not the electrode 50 on the film strip 49 slides in contact with the electrode 45 through each contact electrode 57 of the sensor 55.
