Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the titled ameliorating agent containing benzaldehyde and/or 4,6-O-benzylidene-D-glucose as an active component.

CONSTITUTION: The objective remedy and ameliorating agent for cachexia can be produced by using benzaldehyde and/or 4,6-O-benzylidene-D-glucose (acute toxicity LD50 is ≥5g/kg and ≥4g/kg by subcutaneous injection to rat, respectively, and the compounds have extremely low toxicity and high safety) as active components. The agent is administered in the form of injection, drip, tablet, capsule, granule, power or suppository. When benzaldehyde is used as the active component, it is preferable to use the compound as a clathrate compound because the compound is an unstable and irritant substance. Dose: 50W5,000mg of the active component in 1W several divided doses.
