Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a therapeutic medicine containing tilmicosin as a macrolide antibiotic having a specified structure as the effective component that is effective for therapy and prevention of gram-positive microbial infections of aquatic organisms such as Salmonidae, Perciforms and Crustacea. CONSTITUTION: This medicine for gram-positive microbial infection of aquatic organisms is produced by using tilmicosin as a macrolide antibiotic expressed by formula I as the effective component, mixing this component with herring powder, blood powder, soybean powder, dry beer yeast, corn gluten powder, whey powder, vitamin mixture and mineral mixture, and further compounding with flour, herring oil, etc. In formula I, R is a satd. or unsatd. secondary amino group expressed by formula II, R<1> is a group of formula II, and R<2> is H, a (substd.) alkanoyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, (substd.) benzoyl, etc., R<3> is OH, a (substd.) alkanoyloxy group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, (substd.) benzoyloxy group, etc. The formula II represents a monocyclic hydrocarbon having 5 to 16 atoms in the ring, or bicyclic or tricyclic hydrocarbon having 8 to 20 atoms in the ring when atoms are considered as carbon atoms.
