To facilitate operation and confirmation of a remote control device by forming a display unit of the remote control device easy for users containing elderly person hard to read characters to read characters and symbols displayed in the display unit to express operation condition.
This remote control device is formed of an operation unit containing a plurality of operation switches 1 for setting a plurality of operation condition, an enlargement switch 2 and a reduction switch 3, a control unit 4 for generating and outputting a display signal showing operation condition with an image on the basis of an input of the operation condition set by the operation switch 1 and for generating and outputting a control signal for instructing carry-out of the operation condition, a display unit 5 for displaying the operation condition in a screen on the basis of the display signal output from the control unit 4, and a transmission unit 6 for transmitting the control signal output from the control unit 4 to equipment to be controlled. The control unit 4 is provided with an enlarging and reducing means for generating a display signal to enlarge the operation condition, which is specified by the enlargement switch 2 and the operation switch 1 among the set operation condition, for display.
