PURPOSE: To attain the remote control with excellent operability without being affected by the delay of a transmission line by providing a time control mode in addition to a usual control mode and selecting any of the modes.

CONSTITUTION: A remote controller 11 is provided with an operation table 12, a monitor 13, a signal processing unit 14, a MODEM 15, and an NTT terminal station 9. The operation table 12 is provided with a mode changeover switch. The mode changeover switch selects the control mode as the usual control mode or the time control mode. When the time control mode is selected, the system is operated only for a predetermined time even when the camera control switch is kept depressed and the moving amount is decided by properly selecting the time. Thus, an overshoot owing to a delay time by a transmission line in the usual control mode is kept as it is and an inching control operation disregarding the delay is executed in the time control mode.
