To provide a remote controller retrieving system which has a function of retrieving a lost remote controller and notifying the allocation, and by which a user can recognize the notification more reliably when the remote controller is lost in a limited range such as the inside of a room.

The remote controller retrieving system 8 is provided with an air conditioner main body 1A and a wireless remote controller 2 for transmitting an operating signal to the main body 1A, to make an air conditioner 1 perform prescribed operations by remote control. The remote controller 2 is provided with a receiving means 14 for receiving a remote controller retrieving signal, and response output means 7 and 16 for sending a response signal in response to the remote controller retrieving signal received by the means 14. The main body 1A is provided with sending means 12 and 13 for sending the remote controller retrieving signal, and an informing means for informing upon receiving the signals sent from the means 7 and 16.
