PURPOSE: To shorten the picture transmitting time by selecting and transmitting only a section picture signal designated previously and transmitting continuously the picture signals except the section picture signal as necessary.
CONSTITUTION: A signal conversion/transmission means 13 contains a magnified picture dividing means 131 which divides a magnified picture signal of an organismic specimen into (n) pieces of section picture signals set previously, a section picture selection/ transmission means 132 which selects and transmits only the m-th section picture signal designated previously, and a section picture continuous transmission means 133 which transmits continuously the picture signals except the m-th signal. Furthermore a section picture continuous transmission stop/start means 211 is added to a signal reception adverse conversion means 21 to stop and start the action of the means 132. Then one section that is believed most useful is first transmitted, and the remaining picture signals of a frame are continuously transmitted as necessary for the sections. As a result, the picture transmitting time is shortened.
