To provide a remote monitoring extension system with a document retrieval function capable of efficiently retrieving documents related to a monitoring target device on the basis of information supplied by a remote monitoring function.

The remote monitoring extension system 1, in which display information for displaying operation conditions on a monitor 520 is supplied from a monitoring device 200 monitoring operation conditions of devices 110a to 110d to a user terminal 500, has further a document management device 400 for retrieving the documents from a document memory means 410. Location information for identifying the document management device 400 is memorized in the display information by correlating the location information. The user terminal 500 identifies the document management device 400 of a search destination from the display information of the search target and transmits a document demand including retrieving information based on the display information of the search target to the document management device 400 of the search destination. The document management device 400 retrieves a document from a document memory means 410 on the basis of the search information of the document demand, and then, the retrieved document is supplied to the user terminal 500.
