External connection devices are a television receiver 10 and a DVD 20 and can externally read/write setup data via communication interfaces 11, 21 (S104 to S106). A control device is a hard disk recorder 30, communicates with the external connection devices via a communication interface 31, and can read/write the setup data of each external connection device (S206, S208, S214, S216). Further, the control device reads/writes the setup data from/to the external connection devices on the basis of an instruction received via a network connection interface 37 (S210, S212). A service device 50 includes the network connection interface, outputs an instruction to the hard disk recorder 30 being the control device via the network connection interface and can read/write the setup data in the control device and the external connection devices (S308, S314).
