Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for confirming a relative displacement of a rod in respect to a cylinder member at a remote position without going to their installation site.SOLUTION: A remote monitoring device 1 for detecting a relative displacement amount of a rod in respect to a cylinder of a hydraulic vibration restrictor and detecting a displacement of a pipe comprises a rotary mechanism 3 for converting a linear relative displacement of the rod into a rotary displacement, a potentiometer 9 for generating an electrical output corresponding to a rotary displacement of this rotary mechanism 3, a detecting circuit 10a for generating an alert signal at a prescribed threshold of output of this potentiometer 9 and a communication instrument 4 for transmitting this alert signal of the detecting circuit 10. The rotary mechanism 3 includes a pulley 6 for feeding out a working wire in response to a rod feeding-in or feeding-out motion of the rod and winding-up while it is rotationally biased in a direction in which a wire 7 fixed to the rod is wound up. The potentiometer 9 rotating with the pulley 6 generates a voltage output in response to the rotary displacement and causes the detecting circuit 10a to output the alert signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
