Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of remotely updating the program and data of terminal equipment by preventing data from being illegally acquired, and independently recovering even at the time of failing in the update of the program. SOLUTION: In a program data remotely updating system for updating the program and data of terminal equipment 3 from a data center 1 through a communication line 2, the terminal equipment 3 is provided with a communication processing part 4, a central processing unit 9, an update processing part 5, a volatile memory 6, a non-volatile memory 7, and a second non-volatile memory 9. At the time of updating the program and data of the terminal equipment 3 from the data center 1, mutual authentication is performed between the data center 1 and the communication processing part 4 by using a secret key symmetric cipher or public key asymmetric cipher technology so that validity can be mutually confirmed.
