In this remotely controlled bar, a holding unit 2 provided on a tip part of an operation bar 1 is opened/closed by the operation of an operation unit 3 provided on a base end part of the operation bar 1. In the operation bar 1, a bar member of a double structure in which an inner bar member 5 is inserted in a tubular outer bar member 4 is expandable. The holding unit 2 comprises a pair of suction cups 37 and 37 to hold an article, a spring member 35 with one end thereof connected to the suction cups and the other end connected to the outer bar member, and a connection member 36 which connects the tip of the inner bar member 5 to the suction cup 37, and brings the suction cups 37 close to each other by retracting the inner bar member 5 from the outer bar member 4 by the operation of the operation unit 3.
