Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a removable disk device which is capable of removing the static electricity on a recording disk, does not generate a noise and metallic powder accompanying the rotation of a spindle motor shaft and is reduced in electric power consumption.
SOLUTION: The removable disk device 10 is provided with an electrostatic brush 5 consisting of a conductor disposed between the spindle motor shaft 1 and a casing 4. In the state during the course of the insertion operation of the recording disk 6 to the removable disk device 10, the electrostatic brush 5 comes into contact with the spindle motor shaft 1 and the casing 4 and releases the static electricity on the recording disk 6 to the casing 4 through the spindle motor shaft 1 and the electrostatic brush 5. After the recording disk 6 is completely inserted to the removable disk device 10, the electrostatic brush 5 does not come into contact with the spindle motor shaft 1 and the generation of a noise and metallic powder accompanying the rotation of the spindle motor shaft 1 is prevented.
