Title:
REMOVAL OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN IN VINYLIC MONOMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH026413
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove dissolved oxygen by employing a packed tower having packed beds divided into multistages and having spaces between the respective packed beds, maintaining the inner pressure of the packed tower at ≤ a certain value by subjecting in a pressure-reducing process and/or an inert gas-supplying process and subsequently allowing a vinylic monomer held at a specific temperature to flow down from the upper portion of the tower.

CONSTITUTION: A packed tower 8 having packed beds 9 divided into multistages and having spaces 10 formed between the respective packed beds is used and the inner pressure of the packed tower 8 is maintained at a pressure of ≤780Torr by subjecting to a pressure-reducing process and/or an inert gas- supplying process. A vinylic monomer containing dissolved oxygen is sent into a cooler 5 through a supplying line 2 and a line 4 with a pump 3 and adjusted to a temperature between the freezing point of the monomer and 15°C in the cooler 5. The adjusted monomer is allowed to flow down into the packed tower 8 from a distributing tube 7 disposed at the upper portion of the tower 8 to remove the dissolved oxygen.
