Title:
REMOVAL METHOD FOR MERCURY IN EXHAUST GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6458328
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the consumption of hypochlorite by making exhaust gas containing mercury contact with washing liquid to which hypochlorite and a compound containing ammonium, amino or imino are added and removing mercury in exhaust gas.

CONSTITUTION: Mercury in exhaust gas is reduced by making the exhaust gas containing mercury contact with washing liquid to which caustic soda and hypochlorite are added. At that time, the mercury in exhaust gas is removed by making the gas containing mercury contact with the washing liquid containing caustic soda to which a compound containing hypochlorite and ammonium (example; ammonia water), or containing amino (example: amine), or else containing imino (example: cyanuric acid) or the like is added. Thus, the consumption of hypochlorite is reduced by collecting chlorine generated by decomposition of hypochlorite not reacted with a substance of reducing properties by mean of cyanuric acid or the like, and making the same reside in the washing liquid.
