To provide a removal method of a sulfur component in a fossil fuel by ferrous oxide-containing metamorphic rock for removing a sulfur component contained in a fossil fuel such as gasoline for automobiles, diesel fuel, and heavy fuel oil used for boilers, in which sulfur oxide of a combustion product becomes the cause of atmospheric pollution, is removed in a fuel supply container immediately before being sucked into an engine.
In the removal method of the sulfur component in the fossil fuel, the ferrous oxide-containing metamorphic rock is made into minute particles of 4mm to 12mm to make wave motion stones 1, and the stones 1 are filled into cylindrical mesh containers made of cloth or a corrosion-resistant metal. The plurality of the mesh containers are connected consecutively to make a component to be installed in a fossil fuel container immediately before suction into an engine or a boiler. The sulfur component contained in the fossil fuel is removed in a step before combustion reaction by fixing the sulfur component contained in the fossil fuel as iron sulfide 3 through reaction on the surface of the wave motion stones 1 by ferrous oxide seeping out of ferrous oxide-containing metamorphic rock.
