To enable a matter adhered on a floor to be efficiently removed, by equipping a supply regulator to supply a prescribed amount of coolant from a coolant storage container onto a remover and blowing the coolant through a nozzle to a matter adhered on a floor to cool and harden the matter to make the matter be easily crushed.
When a matter 51 adhered on a floor, such as chewing gum, is to be removed, the adhered matter 51 is covered by a hood 25 for cooling, a prescribed amount of coolant such as liquid nitrogen, low temperature carbon dioxide gas, etc., is supplied to a coolant discharging nozzle 14 from a coolant storage container 11 of a cooling means 10 through a supply amount regulator 15 to discharge the coolant into a hood 25 for cooling through the nozzle 17 to cool and harden the matter 51 so as to be brought into an easily crushable condition. Next, a crushing cutter 21 detachably equipped on a crushing cutter holder 26 on the lower end of an elevating and rotatable shaft 22 is rotated to crush the matter 51. The crushed matter 51 is, after that, sucked by action of a suction blower 34 to recover the crushed matter into a bag 32 for recovery.
