PURPOSE: To reduce the quantity of fresh cooling water to be replenished and to reduce the lowering of the degree of vacuum, by treating steam which contains dust by using an appratus having a surface condenser provided prior to a barometric condenser.
CONSTITUTION: After keeping the degree of vacuum of a system in a range of 20W2,000mmHg abs by operating a cooling water circulating pump 5 and a vacuum pump 6, matters to be dried are supplied from a supplying line 9 to a vacuum spraying chamber 1, and generated steam which contains dust is introduced to a cyclone 2. Then the steam of which most of the contained dust is removed in the cyclone 2 is introduced to a surface condenser 3, and after removing the dust moreover, the steam is introduced to a barometric condenser 4. Noncondensing gas separated here is evacuated by the vacuum pump 6. On the other hand, the dried matters are discharged from the chamger 1 through a discharging line 10.
