Title:
REMOVING NOX IN WASTE GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54142174
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: Gas to be treated is mixed with NH3 and flowed in parallel with plate type body for contact, which body consists of three-dimensional net structure body substrate totally deposited with catalytic component. Such process effectuates a stable, efficient, long life NOx removal of waste gas containing a considerable quantity of dust.

CONSTITUTION: A three-dimensional structure body substrate of Ni metal net with 8 to 200 mesh, preferably 20 to 100 mesh and 0.5 to 10mm, preferably 1 to 3mm in thickness is provided. The substrate is deposited with a catalytic component including TiO2 in amount of greater than 50 atomic % as Ti and less than 50 atomic % of one or more of oxides of rare earth element such as Fe, Co and precious metal such as Pt. such catalytic component is throughly mixed with water and coated onto the substrate, then dried and fired. The resulted catalytic body is made into a unit of 2mm thick and 1 m2 area. A plurality of unit is arranged in parallel with 5 mm spacings to form a reactor. A waste gas to be treated is mixed with NH3 and flowed in parallel with the plate type catalytic body to be contacted, thereby converting NOx in the gas into harmless N2.
