Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the quality of the appearance after coating by polishing 1.0mum high flaws produced on the surface while rotating a rotary wire brush 0.15-1.3mm in wire diameter in a speed range from 350-12,000 RPM. CONSTITUTION:Flaws which are produced on the surface of aluminum plate, or aluminum alloy plate over the measured length l=25.4mm in the direction parallel and rectangular to the rolling direction and whose maximum roughness Rmax(=H) is over 1.5mum and the number of 1.0mum or more high crests is 25 or more, are polished and removed by rotating a rotary wire brush. As the rotary wire brush, metal wires made of copper, copper alloy, stainless steel, etc. are used, and the flaw-part is polished so that the surface configuration of the flaw-removed area becomes the same as the surface configuration of the circumferential area. Thus, the coated appearance after repairing the flaw part is improved.
