Abstract:

PURPOSE:To control stably the scanning position to a desired track in a high speed even if the track is deformed during such as the production of a recording carrier, by closing in timing the tracking control on a track where a correct servo signal for tracking control is obtained. CONSTITUTION:It is noticed that a deformed or chipped part extends over several tracks mostly, and a position which an optical beam 2 does not track is detected by the output of a differential amplifier 12 with a tracking opening and closing circuit 14 closed, namely, in the state of tracking-on in the current track before jumping. A lamp voltage of a jumping signal generating circuit 17 is generated at a timing shifted from this detection timing by a trigger generating circuit 24. In such a constitution, a good differential signal is obtained even when the tracking control circuit 14 is closed after jumping, and a stable tracking is possible on a desired track.
