To improve the hermetical sealing of a gap by fastening and holding a packing ring abutting on the inner peripheral surface of a portion protruded in the axial direction of a supporting ring and extended in a radial direction, to an abutting surface provided in a housing by a holding ring.
In housing halves 1 and 2, a synthetic resin made packing ring 8 provided in a range radially adjacent to a supporting ring 5 inside the same is held by a holding ring 10 fixed by a bolt 9 toward an abutting surface provided in the housing wall of the housing halves 1 and 2. The packing ring 8 is fitted in an annular recess 11 formed by a lathe in the corner of the supporting ring 5. The outer peripheral surface of packing ring 8 is made to abut on the inner peripheral surface of a wall portion extended in the axial direction of the annular recess 11. Since for the annular recess 11 high dimension accuracy is obtained regarding its diameter, and also high accuracy regarding its outer diameter is obtained for the packing ring 8, a good sealing operation is performed.
