PURPOSE: To automatically switch to a reserved channel at a reserved time and to start video recording by setting the form of video recording reservation, and selecting the reserved channel preferentially at the reserved time and entering a video recording mode unless video recording is being carried on.

CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with plural buttons 44 including a reservation selection button, a VRT remote controller 36 for channel selection and the image output OUT of the VTR 42 is connected to the image input IN of a TV 47, and an image which is sent from the VTR 42 or an image which is selected by the TV remote controller 48 and selected by the TR 47 itself is projected. Then when the power source 38 of a video recording device 42 is turned on and video recording reservation is set, a control means 34 selects the reserved channel preferentially by a channel selecting means 18 at the reserved time and places the video recording device 42 in video recording mode when the form of the video recording is set and the video recording device 42 is not in video recording operation. Consequently, even when the user watches a program of another channel, the channel is switched at the video recording time and the video recording is started, thereby eliminating a forgetful failure in the video recording.
