To provide a timer-recording controller for controlling the recording operation of a timer-recorder for timer-recording a video signal, an audio signal or a data signal that is broadcast in the timer-recording of the broadcast video signal.

The timer-recording controller (TRC) for receiving a broadcast signal, multiplexed with program information containing broadcast-scheduled program information and controlling the recorder to timer-record a desired program, includes a timer-recording scheduled program list producer (200) and a recorder controller (220) for controlling the recorder to timer-record the desired program at a broadcast-scheduled time of the desired program. A detector (54) detects timer-recording disrupting programs (Sdp), which has the probability of making the scheduled broadcast time of timer-recording scheduled programs (Srp) delayed. The user operates user's instructions input unit (56) and controls the timer-recording scheduled program list producer (200) and the recorder controller (220) so as to delay the scheduled timer recording end time (Sret) of the recorder (52) by a desired time (Tp), in response to the result of the detection.
