PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of white horizontal lines on a black screen at the time of turning on of a power source by ORing the outputs of 1st and 2nd reset pulse generating circuits by a logic circuit and impressing the control pulses for blocking DC to an LCD element to a control circuit.

CONSTITUTION: All power sources start from zero and vertical and horizontal synchronizing signals are transmitted from an information processing section 1 when the power source is turned on. A reset pulse is then produced from a 1st mono-multi circuit 14. On the other hand, the output (i) is formed from a 2nd mono-multi circuit 15 by a prescribed time delay t1 through a time constant circuit 4 from a power source terminal 10. Waveforms (h), (i) are, thereupon, logically processed by an AND circuit 16, by which pulses P1, P2 are obtd. A frame memory 8 is thus reset through the control circuit 7. The generation of the white horizontal lines on the black screen is prevented in this way.
