PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residence capable of protecting privacy of a pet owner and strengthening security.SOLUTION: A residence has a pet space (23) between an entrance (21) and a living space (22). The residence comprises: a first gateway (31), which leads to the entrance from outdoor and allows a person and a pet to pass through; a second gateway (32), which leads to the living space from the entrance and allows the person to pass through without walking through the pet space; a third gateway (33), which leads to the pet space from the entrance and allows the person and the pet to pass through; and a fourth gateway (34), which leads to the living space from the pet space and allows the pet to walk through.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
