Title:
RESIDUAL VOLTAGE DISCHARGE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3103240
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a compact residual voltage discharge device which reduces the frequency of restriking and is excellent in reliability by connecting a series circuit consisting of a resistance and a saturable reactor in parallel with the capacitor of a line across which a switch is connected.
CONSTITUTION: A series circuit of a resistance 5 and a saturable reactor 6 is connected in parallel with the stray capacitor 4 of a line 2 across which a circuit breaker 3 is connected. When the circuit breaker 3 is closed a current for charging the stray capacitor 4 of the line 2 flows from a power source 1 by way of the circuit breaker 3. When the circuit breaker 3 is opened to interrupt the charging current, a charge remains in the stray capacitor 4. A DC voltage caused by the charge between the line 2 and ground is applied to the series circuit of the resistance 5 and the saturable reactor 6 and the charge stored in the stray capacitor 4 is discharged via the resistance 5 and the saturable reactor 6. Therefore, the DC voltage with which the line 2 is charged after interruption of the current can be quickly discharged and the voltage applied between circuit breaker poles can be reduced.
