Abstract:
To provide a high-strength resin-coated bamboo and a method for production thereof.SOLUTION: A resin-coated bamboo is produced by immersing a cut area portion only of a bamboo immediately after cutting in a resin solution including a water-soluble resin. By sucking up of the resin solution, the vessels in a bamboo structure are filled with the water-soluble resin, and the surface of the bamboo is coated with the resin. Thereby, the strength of the bamboo enhances and crack is prevented and besides, the resin-coated bamboo makes it possible to prevent mold generation, color tone reduction or insect damage. A liquid car wax may be blended with the resin solution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
