Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to prohibit the growth of a wide range of bacteria, fungi and algae over a long period of time by compounding carriers holding antimicrobial chemicals and metallic powder into resins.
CONSTITUTION: This resin compsn. for anti-underwater microorganisms having an effect of prohibiting the growth of a wide range of the bacteria, fungi and algae over a long period of time is prepd. by compounding the carriers holding the antimicrobial chemicals and the metallic powder into the resins. Inorganic based antimicrobial agents such as zeolite contg. metals having a sterilizing effect are preferably used as the antimicrobial agents. The antimicrobial agents prepd. by holding one or more than two kinds of the metals selected from silver, copper and zinc on the porous zeolite as carriers in an ion state are more particularly preferable. The metallic powder includes, for example, silver, zinc and copper compound. The resins include, for example, a polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, polyethylene terephthalate, polybutyrene terephthalate, ABC resins, etc.
