PURPOSE:To obtain a composition consisting of a specific transparent resin, being prescribed value or above in light transmittance in light transmitting area in spectral property curve of visible region after coating film formation, having excellent spectal properties, durability, light resistance and heat resis tance and useful for color liquid crystal display device, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition consisting of a transparent resin such as PVA into which a pigment (e.g. azo lake based or Milori blue) having spectral properties capable of transmitting light in specific visible light area, having particle size distribution being <=10wt.% based on total particles in particles having >=1mum particle diameter and being >=60wt.% based on total particles in particles having 0.01-0.3mum particle diameter is dispersed and being <=20wt.% in light transmittance of light absorption area in spectral property curve in visible area of transparent resin after coating film formation and being >=50wt.% in light transmittance of light transmitting area. Furthermore, the pigment is blended with the transparent resin at a ratio of 1/5 to 1/2 (expressed in terms of solid content).
