Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition satisfying surface smoothness, heat resistance, thermal stability and the like and which is economically competitive by blending a polyarylate resin with a polyester resin.
SOLUTION: This composition contains 1-50 pts.wt. of (A) a polyarylate resin and 99-50 pts.wt. of (B) a polyester resin. Preferably, the composition further contains 0.1-40 pts.wt. of (C) a filler based on 100 pts.wt. of the sum of components A and B. An average particle diameter of the filler is preferably 100 μm or lower. Though both inorganic and organic fillers can be used, talc with an average particle diameter of 2.5-3.0 μ is the most desired in terms of cost and general-purpose properties. As component A, a reaction product of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid or a mixture thereof with bisphenol A or a derivative thereof is desired. As component B, compounds containing aliphatic diol residues are preferred.
