Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin composition capable of giving coating film excellent in weatherability, water resistance and contamination resistance by incorporating an emulsion copolymer with a silicone-contg. compound and a curing catalyst.
SOLUTION: This resin composition is obtained by incorporating (A) 100 pts.wt. of an emulsion copolymer prepared by emulsion copolymerization between (i) a silyl group-bearing vinyl monomer of formula I (R1 is a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-10C aryl, etc.; X1 is a halogen, alkoxy, etc.; (a) is 0, 1 or 2) and (ii) a vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the component (i) with (B) 1-50 pts.wt. of a silicone-contg. compound of formula II (R21, R22 and R23 are each a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-10C aryl, etc.; R3 and R4 are each a 1-20C alkylene; R5 is a direct bond, etc.; X21, X22 and X23 are each a halogen, etc.; X3 is hydroxyl, etc.; X4 is vinyl, etc.; b1 to b3 are each 0, 1 or 2: (c) is an integer of 2-100; (k), (l), (m) and (n) are each an integer satisfying the molar ratio: (k)/(l)/(m)/(n)=(0-50):(1-50):(1-50):(0-50)) and (C) 0-20 pts.wt. of a curing catalyst.
