To obtain a composition which can impact nailability to gypsum boards or building fiber boards by mixing a thermosetting resin with an elastic polymer.
This composition is prepared by dispersing an elastic polymer emulsion in an uncured thermosetting resin solution. The elastic polymer is desirably a rubber latex, an acrylic latex, an acrylate latex or a urethane latex. The ratio of the thermosetting resin to the elastic polymer is 95/5 to 65/35 in terms of the ratio by weight of the solid content. By infiltrating this composition into a porous base material or a fibrous base material and curing it, a sheety molding having nailability can be obtained. The porous base material used is exemplified by a gypsum board, a porous ceramic or a urethane foam. The fibrous base material used is exemplified by a glass fiber, rock wool, a ceramic fiber paper or wood. The sheety molding is laminated on at least either surface of a core material to obtain a platy molding.
